The UK government deems open justice essential, since before the justice system as we know it. And yet, victims face considerable barriers to open justice at every stage of the justice process, barriers that are such an antithesis to open justice that it is almost totally unbelievable.

During the process of the project we were told so many stories. Of victims being told not to attend the trials of their abusers, complete lack of remote viewing options, victim blaming from professionals, including judges, and ultimatly a bill to access information on their own cases.
A bill up to £22,000. Just to find out what had been said in court about them, and ultimately the verdict and sentencing.

Open Justice For All is demanding legislative, policy & practice changes. We work alongside the London Victims Commisioners office and a team of volunteers to reform our criminal justice system, and to serve all victims better.

Our campaign has reached national newspapers, we have been donated digital ad space and have had our work discussed in parliament. The labour party ultimately committed, even before winning the election, to a pilot that has now been launched, entitling victims of sexual offences to their case’s sentencing remarks free of charge.
